I'm getting an "Overconstrained" error - what does that mean?

If you encounter this error while attempting to join a Popup venue, this could mean that part of your device does not meet the hardware requirements Popup needs to work properly. If this is the case, there are a few things you could try to work around the problem.

Change Webcam

Popup venues that utilize video avatars require a webcam resolution of at least 360p. If your webcam is not capable of outputting at least this level of video quality, or your device has multiple cameras connected and your browser automatically chose the wrong one, then you may encounter this error.

To alleviate this, consider changing your camera to another one (if available). To do so, simply connect a new camera, and then follow the guide here.

If no better cameras are available to connect, consider visiting Popup on a different device, or reaching out to the event owners to ask for camera-less options.

Too Many Open Tabs

Some devices may slow down if they have too many browser tabs to handle at once. Because Popup is no usual website, it requires more resources than a normal tab, and may end up overtaxing your device. If this occurs, consider closing some tabs or restarting your browser.
